Financial Literacy Foundation - What Is It?
Extra foundation was set up four years ago by a combination of the federal government and ASIC, but it is set up as an independent organisation. It's one of the very few philanthropic organisations that are focused on financial literacy. Extra has been set up to commission and conduct research to make grants to community organisations who are working with people who might be in financial distress. We run a whole bunch of programs ourselves, including Talk Money, which is a financial literacy program in schools.
