Caesar and the Senate Meeting Location
Julius caesar was on his way to a meeting of the senate in Rome. The building had recently burned down during a riot following the murder of clodius. Caesar's great rival, pompey the great, had overseen its construction several years earlier. Clodius is one of our favourite ancient figures and you can learn more about him here.
