The Silk Road
The silk road really is a term for a trade system which began in the bronze age, and perhaps even earlier. What they realize now is the silk robe was the land roate, and there was an equal amount of maritime rotes that connected china to india, to southeast asia. And so they think of these things as sort of great trading circles now. It's never been one road. It is a spider's web of connectivity.
