Introduction
The incidence of THA dislocation is 1-3%. 70% occur within the first month, and 75-90% are posterior dislocations. Risk factors include prior hip surgery, female sex, greater than 70-80 years of age,. Another risk factor is malpositioning of the components. Surgical management with possible revision total hip arthroplasty is indicated for irreducible dislocations, recurrent instability, and implant malposition.
