Tensions were beginning to appear between a more open economic system and a political system which still really hadex ted control. Urban workers, certainly, once the chinese leadership experimented with price reform, became very frustrated at the take off inflation in the urban areas. Students, of course, began to push as china was opening up for more a freedom,. The students wanted to demonstrate his memory, and were stopped from doing so by the authorities. And it eventually led to an outpouring of many of these emotions among the citizens of bajing and across the country.
