The Art of Making a Bido Box
The Tohoku region is known for its magiabapa, a type of bento box. It's made from cedar or cypress and boiled to make it easier to bend. There are no nails on the closures; they're woven into each other. And some of them are also lacquered on the inside. You have to be sort of careful that not something you can put in the dishwasher.
