The Importance of Immemoriam

The Victorian poet Tennyson picked up on Darwin's ideas and used them in his famous poem, Immemoriam. By 1860, evolution was a lot less threatening an idea than it would have been in 1830. The Reverend Baden Powell said evolution clearly proves that God is even more magnificent than we thought. So when the origin is published, it is already a place.
