How to Steal Like an Artist
The phrase steel like an artist really came from, I'm a reader and a meticulous kind of quote collector. So when I was coming up and trying to figure out how to do my own work, I noticed that a lot of the artists I love talked about influence in terms of stealing. The way to actually find your own voice to find your own style is to borrow and copy and imitate and transform about 12 different styles from other people. And then you kind of become your own person.
