Micheal florent van langren drew the first statistical graph of longitude determinations from toledo to rome. He was making an appeal to the king of spain, he showed all of the previous estimates of that longitude distance. And again, this is part of the golden age of of data collection and qualification of the world in the second half of the nineteenth century.
