He says if you're a serious conservationist and you look at it from a cost-benefit perspective, you can actually achieve better conservation outcomes by pulling out your wallet. Watson: There are always going to be the groups like the Center for Biological Diversity which are using the Endangered Species Act as a tool for controlling land use instead of conserving wildlife.
