The story of the African slave trade is told in a book called The Slave Trade: A Memoir. It was written by Charles Dickens, who wrote it as part of his epic novel "Moby-Dick" (1877) and has been turned into a film with an increased focus on Africa's colonial past. One character tells how he learned to say 'no' when someone said they were going to do something that would make him feel bad about doing it. He then learns not to ask for anything from anyone - even if you are supposed to be saying yes.
