The History of Dancing in the United States

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing was formed in 1904. It set out agreed figures for five dancers, the Wals, Fokstrop, Quickstep, Tango and Yale Blues. The process to codify the Latin dances also took much more than a decade. In 1950s Victor Silvesta pointed out that bore room had become one of our most important exports.
