The Importance of Long Term Thinking in Democracies
There is a familiar sort of argument that says that democracies are uniquely bad at long term thinking because they're locked into the electoral cycle. So what do you see there as the lessons that democracies can learn and I guess also concretely how do democracies do better? David Frum: The idea of actually having goals in the next five years I think is very positive but it wouldn't be quite nice if the United Kingdom had a five or ten year healthcare plan.
