Is It Possible to Trace the History of Russia?
Rushe's history is dominated by big structural continuities, you say. What are some of those threads that we can trace throughout russian history? In putin's vision assumed that russia was some sort of empire or civilizational sphere whose religion language united it with its other slav brothers. So that's clearly, from the start of his regime, his vision of the need for a strong state. But it develops, particularly in his third term as president, from 20 12, and when he adopts this idea of the russian world, which is really the historical justification for this war.
