There was justification for thinking there might be something like Atlantis, right? I mean, not much archeological research had been done. And so, yes, lots of people, some of them were overt pseudo-archaeologists,. Some of them were what we would call early archeologists. They certainly looked for this kind of stuff and never have they found it.
