The Importance of Taking on China's Ambitions

If Taiwan falls, two very bad things will happen for the United States. The only way we're going to stand up to China and prevent it from dominating Asia is through a coalition because people won't believe us. We don't fit right in terms of the kind of war that we are going to experience there. A high tech surface fleet is already vulnerable. Those surface ships can be destroyed at high capital cost. So we have to come up with something on a World War II scale. In the meantime, I think this is good news as Republicans get off their butts about taking on China's military.
