Drawing on the Deuteronomy 32 worldview and Dr. Michael Heiser's understanding of the three rebellions of Genesis 3, 6, and 11, she maps categories of mental health suffering back to specific entry points of spiritual darkness. It's a careful, clinically-informed attempt to take Ephesians 6:12 seriously in a treatment room.

The demand in the broader body of Christ is real. Pastors are referring people to therapists because they don't have a framework. Therapists are getting stuck because they don't have the theology. Dr. Atwell's work, including her assessment tool that asks about Ouija boards, occult involvement, and even alien abduction experiences, is an attempt to build a bridge between those two worlds. Not to replace either one, but to help clinicians ask better questions.
