The Legacy of the Navy in the 1790s

In the Napoleonic Wars, there were far fewer mutinies in the Navy. This may have been down to repressive policies brought in after 1797. After 1803 though, it's much more consensus in British political culture. A real sense that Napoleon is this sort of ogre, bogeyman figure that needs to be defeated. And I think it's understandable then that that sort of political consensus is also reflected on board ship.
