Deep Sea Mining

There is no commercial scale mining happening yet. But what it would look like is basically a giant underwater vacuum cleaner. Companies are proposing to send these things that are maybe the size of semi-trucks, but way, way heavier. And then from there, you'd have this huge pipe between your vacuum cleaner going all the way up to the surface of the ocean. That's a two to three mile long. Yeah, so it is quite a feat of engineering.
