The Prosecutors Didn't Know Leslie Hated Themselves
Prosecutors knew that leslie was set up. They had to work hard to not take it personally. But there were parts of the longer versions of the tapes that gave the prosecutors hope. Here was leslie on tape bragging about being sexually active and saying she would go down to the basement again, and calling kile cute. If you just listened to the tapes, you could easily interpret it as leslie consenting to everything that happened in the basement. The one thing that the prosecutors did learn though was that the defence team was playing hard ball, getting some one to secretly record leslie. These people were willing to do absolutely anything.
