The Allies Invading Iran to Secure Iranian Oil
The Iranian king that the Allies deposed, Reza Shah, he had been a force for secularism and modernization in Iran. In 1951, the Iranian parliament votes to nationalize the oil company, boot out the Brits, drill their own damn oil,. That's when all hell breaks loose, a fight ensues between parliament and the western-backed Shah. The CIA covertly engineers accrue to reinstate the Shah as a western puppet ruler; thus the stage is set for the Islamic revolution.
