Opportunities for Women in the Village
Women's opportunities are less than for men, but we want to think of them as not lacking in opportunity. For example, that movement to towns that I talked about, a lot of young women moved into towns. And they could rise in town society. So there were opportunities for women in towns. They can hold property in certain circumstances and do have chances in the commercial world.
