Peter had fled to Mexico, got an apartment, and was just like living his life. He'd even developed a close relationship with a woman in Claudia. It all came crashing down when he was speeding and lost control of his car. The car got totaled, and Claudia, who had been in the car with him, died. And after this happened, he fled again.
