So you use this term very deliberately throughout the book to discuss the very particular vertical logic of storage that's embodied in the filing cabinet. And how was it different from the bound books that were previously used in offices; what made it so modern? Yes, sir. What the really enervative thing about the vertical filing cabnet is that it completely changed how loose paper was stored. It allowed loose paper to be stored on its edge write.
