There was a counter story as it came along later that said there was no lifeboat on that ship. The Admiralty Court investigated and their first thought was that the salvagers had actually killed all the people on the ship in order to bring it in and claim salvage, which makes no sense. Ultimately, they only got a percentage of what they would normally have gotten. And the alcohol was unloaded and taken to the Annabai and the trip was concluded.
