Anselinger got in touch with Louis McKay, Billy Holiday's abusive former pimp. He agreed to help Anselinger put away the jazz singer for good. With his testimony on record, they had enough to bust her again. This time, she went to trial and was sent to prison where she spent a year in hard labor until her release in 1948.
