Alternative Credentials

In his new book, "Alternative Credentials," Julian Zelizer argues that the current system isn't working for students from disadvantaged neighborhoods and schools. He says leading companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, JP Morgan should make public which tests they would consider in lieu of a college degree when selecting candidates for specific jobs. These things could include a simple literacy test, an online course, certificate program, or even a game based test.
