Is It a Help in Negotiating Modernity?

Both Christianity and Islam have a moment where the divine ruptures the fabric of the diurnal. In both faiths, you have a corpus of scripture that enables the faithful to have a sense of what it is, the divine is speaking to them. And so I wonder in the present, for Muslims and for Christians, is this a help in negotiating modernity? It doesn't... But I do assume that they're just adjusting is somehow problematic.
