The Cost of Auto Insurance Rises More Than Expected

After two straight months of decline, consumer prices rose more than expected in January. Inflation jumped 0.5 percent last month to an annual rate of 6.4 percent. The cost of auto insurance is up nearly 15 percent over the last year. A new report found nationwide, premiums have risen more than $240 on average, topping $2,000 a year.
