The History of Dog Biscuits
By 1860, an electrician from Ohio arrives in Britain called James Spratt. He sees a market opportunity because what he notices on the dog side is lots of people giving,. sailors giving their old bits of cake and everything to dogs. By 1870s, he has adverts in all the big dog press, all the dog magazines. And Charles Craft, who becomes affiliated with Crafts, is actually the general manager of Spratt dog biscuits. So it's kind of this really interesting commercial link.
