The Rights of Nature and the Rights of People

There is a very strong relationship between the rights of nature and the rights of human beings. In Australia, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people say country needs people. The environmental movement has a lot of proud history, but unfortunately one of the common threads is that it tends to be white people,. It tends to be wealthy white people, and I don't think the environmental movement has fully reckoned with the racist elements that have underpinned some of its actions at some time.
