In 19 76, a dozen feminists crashed the annual conference of the israeli society of obsetrics and ginacology. The organization had come out s freedman's bill to legalize abortion and make it available to every woman for free through the health services. Women in Israel could always get safe abortions performed by ors, even when they were illegal. Only they had to pay their ob gns to have them in the doctor's offices as part of a universal kind of done ask, don't tell, black market.
