The European Union Is Still Stuck in a Rock and a Hard Place
The European Union was conceived as a quasi-state that would not really have a demos in the original sense. The EU itself was built on profoundly demobilized societies, he says. And therefore I think the European Union is still stuck to in a rock and a hard place where it's not yet a super-state or it can't go fully super-national.
