The nature of royal wives in this period was a fairly complex one. Kings of egypt were polygamous, and they married many wives. The queen consort is the important royal wife who's represented in art and writings. She stands for all women, and during the minor period, possibly all female deities as well. And ther are additional wives as well. We don't know much about them.
