What's the Origin of the Project on Generalization?

The book is a monograph on the practice of generalization in literary studies. It was written as part of an investigation into how machine learning can detect and better understand this phenomenon. The author says it emerged from frustration at what she felt were outlandish claims being made by people who should be writing about particularity. She also writes that there's more work coming out, which i'm looking forward to reading soon.
