The Academy does not like Gerard because he affirms the superiority of Christianity against all the other religions. He wasn't the greatest communicator, but there are people who purposely do that. There could be a cultural thing. In fact, he's a shameless Westerner and he's proud of it. I found his books and his writings very, very hard to decipher.
