In 1990, Hiroshi was sentenced to 17 years for the murder of Junko Jungkook. He appealed his sentence and a judge gave him 20 years just for the audacity of trying to appeal the sentence. This caused outrage in Japan but not so much outrage that the court had to do something else. In more Western countries, you would see riots and protest over this kind of sentencing.
