The S&P crossed 500 for the first time in March of 1995. That was really the start of the dot com bubble. In three years from March of 1995 to February of 1998, the S&P jumps 100%. It goes from 500 to 1000. Now out on our desert island in the South Pacific, we're not trading. We don't have access to a broker. Remember, all we have is the closing price of the S&p. And that's all we've got.
