In trial two, they find another witness though who says they saw the same thing Sophie did. So Alice does something drastic despite having a gag order placed on her. She went in front of the news cameras one day after court and pleaded with the public to come forward. When this happened, she collapsed right there in the courtroom and ended up having to spend a few days in the hospital. Two years and an appeal later, she got the attention of higher courts and they ruled that her conviction for Eddie's murder must be overturned because there was no proof he was even murdered since they couldn't even determine a cause of death.
