The Theology of Slavery
The idea of slavery becoming, in many ways, a theological question is something that emerges much more forcefully in the 19th century as slavery goes from kind of a necessary evil to a affirmative good. And those who are predominantly in the South are going to be the Baptist that are so on board with the fast like this. Because again, you know, it affirms their belief that slavery is something that is meant to be.
