i went out and collected about 16 thousand regrets from people in a hundred and five countries, this incredible trove of human longing and aspiration. Around the world, people regretd the same four things over and over again. And one of those categories was sort of what you're hinting at, which is moral regrets. I have literally hundreds of people in my data basewo regret bullying kids when they were young,. 20 years ago, 30 years ago, forty years ago. i find that this category of moral regrets is powerful in revealing, ecause it suggests to me that most people actually want to be good.
