The Western Rising and the Rebels in the Tower
The rebels are defeated with huge bloodshed so it looks like an absolute win for the government. Within weeks of the western rising being put down plotters in London begin to move against Somerset and his entire regime is toppled. The rebel leaders who'd been arrested are sitting in the tower, they're watching this sort of power play around them in London. If that had happened I would be intrigued to see what would have happened next because the rebels would then be turned from traitors into supporters of Mary before she came in.
