Bitcoin had this virgin birth, so to speak. Part of why it got so widely distributed is because people didn't know it was going to have this much value. The part I would somewhat disagree with is that we can imagine a world where Satoshi was the smartest he was, but he was like a scammer. He gets 90% of the way there, and then he either does something ethically or technically bad enough that it doesn't really boost trap,. Or it starts to boost trap and stagnates.
