The earliest alcoholic drinks would have been fermented fruit that had fallen off the tree onto the ground and rotted. So we're talking about in the last 100 million years, when fruit-bearing trees came about. It's good to think that the first drunk animals were probably dinosaurs then. And it took a fair amount of time, but finally humans started to consume alcohol.
