The Conversion of the Kazarin Empire
The main reason why the kazarin empire wanted to convert was they needed a monotheistic religion. Their greatest threats to existence were the greek christian bizantians and then the muslims of the various caliphates that they thought well judaism's the perfect middle ground. The conversion was no doubt politically motivated it would still be absurd to imagine that they embraced overnight blindly a religion whose tenants were unknown in them. They had been well acquainted with jus and their religious observances for at least a century before their conversion though the continued influx of refugees from religious persecution and bizantium.
