Rick Edelman: Wells Fargo is paying yet another $300 million to settle a class action lawsuit. He says the bank forced hundreds of thousands of its customers to buy unnecessary insurance when getting an auto loan. This is just the latest in a long string of financial fines and lawsuit settlements that Wells Fargo has incurred, he says. Since 2000, Well Fargo has been fined $25 billion in 230 separate violations - including mortgage abuses, banking violations,. toxic securities abuses, investor protection violations and outright fraud.
