neil faulkner is an archaeologist who has worked extensively in the middle east. He says ordinary arab people are instinctively and uniniversally hostile to western imperialism. The reason they did was because of the region's history of rape, he says. And it definitely goes back to the anglo arab wars of the late nineteenth century.
