Real estate agents were going door to door in the city of saint louis, trying to get people to sign restrictive covenants. The restrictions included everything from no slaughter houses to horse stables but not african-americans. A lot of the subdivision restrictions are drawn up in areas that are not facing a threat of racial transiction.
