The first chapter of Leviticus is on burnt offerings. When the animal is killed, it's not that sacrifice is not completed. The life is in the blood and so as the blood is drained, the levitical priests take the blood and put it on the altar. And then ultimately m in this particular kind of sacrifice, we r oin to hear about different kinds of sacrifices. Then the remains of the animal, again, are placed on the wood, which is on fire, on the altar and is burnt up.
