Do You Think We Need to Pay More Attention to Afghanistan's History?

i think we do need to pay better attention to events and developments from the 19 sixties through the 19 eighties. i really frame that as a civil war, not just as the soviet invasion because there were so many other dynamics at play during that conflict. Im something really stood out to me in recent times is the number of comparisons that were made, or have been made, between the American withdrawal from vietnan and the american withdrawal now from afghanistan. W like that that period of time has not been explored or acknowledged adequately.
